COMMISSION on Audit (COA) Cebu City head lawyer Eva Cabrera wrote to Mayor Michael Rama to ask for a liquidation of the P16.9 million phase 1 rehabilitation of Fort San Pedro and Plaza Independencia and the P5.3 million rehabilitation of the floor in Carbon market floor.
“We would like also to request for the submission of the analysis/derivationof the approved budget of the contract,” Cabrera wrote.
The liquidation reports will be used by COA to check if there were no violations in funding the projects.
COA’s Technical Services Office would look into the details of the reports.
If a violation is identified, the funds might be disallowed or suspended.
The Plaza Independencia rehabilitation awarded to Geety Realty and Development Construction started in October last year.
The fencing of Plaza Independencia cost P1.6 million while the rehabilitation of the floors cost P15 million.
In Carbon market unit I, tiles were placed on the floor and the drainage works were done by contractor MSDLR.
The tiles cost at least P3 million. The drainage system cost P2 million.
COA wants the liquidation report, statement of expenditures and program of works and estimates of the projects.
The City Accounting Office said they have finished the reports but have yet to submit these.
Last month, the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) also requested the Cebu City government for a liquidation report of the P873,000 used for the survey of lots.
