President Rodrigo Duterte will make a stopover in Bangkok on Wednesday – on his way to Kuala Lumpur – and will spend about two hours there to condole with the Thai royal family and the Thai people for the recent death of King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
Sources said Duterte would motor to the Thai Grand Palace in Central Bangkok after arrival at the Suvarnabhumi Airport – the other name for the Bangkok International Airport – in Nong Prue on Wednesday morning.
Duterte was not expected to arrive in Kuala Lumpur – where he will be meeting Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak — until Wednesday afternoon.
On November 1, Duterte made public his Thailand visit to condole with the Thais.
King Bhumibol died on October 13 due to a deteriorating health condition. He was 88. CBB/rga
