SAN FRANCISCO — On Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11, Western Union is offering consumers the opportunity to make U.S. domestic money transfers — and transfers to and from U.S. military bases around the world where Western Union has a retail Agent location — for no fee by using promo code HERO.

All customers making U.S. domestic money transfers can take advantage of these fee-free transactions, with no dollar amount limit. The transfers can be made online at wu.com, with the Western Union app or at one of its 47,000 participating U.S. Agent locations.

Money transfer services, which often provide vital lifelines of support between family members and friends, are particularly important to members of the military who are deployed far from home for long stretches of time.

In honor of American veterans, Western Union will be offering all customers the opportunity to make qualifying U.S. domestic money transfers free of charge both digitally and at retail Agent locations.

Customers can take advantage of the promotion by using the promo code “HERO,” which will automatically waive the normal transaction fee for transfers within the U.S.
