President Duterte landed in Tokyo, Japan on Tuesday afternoon for a three-day official visit, where he is expected to discuss economic and defense concerns with Japanese officials.
Some 1,200 Filipinos from all over Japan waited for him at the Palace Hotel, where he spoke before them.
The Filipinos cheered loudly when video of Mr. Duterte’s arrival at the airport was shown on screen.
