WATCH: Int’l artists, including Filipina, sing for late Thai King

Various artists from eight countries paid tribute to the late revered King Bhumibol Adulyade of Thailand through a song, which called the world’s longest-reigning monarch as “father to us all” and “king of kings.”

The music video uploaded on YouTube by Bing Factory Music and shared by The Nation Bangkok showed the artists, including Filipina Rydsma Amoy, recording the song “An Everlasting Light” in a studio.

Singing with Amoy were Athalie de Koning from the Netherlands, Keith Nolan from Ireland, Tomami Miya from Japan, Frank Herrgott from France, Ram Kumar from India, Cristophe Descamps from Thailand, and Kevin Biddle, Keean Keithen Carter, and Vonn Parker from the United States.

The lyrics were written James Flynn and Keithen Carter, with music by Frank Herrgott.

Part of the song goes: “You served us all your life / Made us strong and made us proud / So let’s celebrate your life / We are here to sing out loud / An everlasting light that has shown us the way / A dedicated love that will never go astray / You will remain with us, your memory will never fade.”

Bhumibol, a unifying figure in Thailand, passed away earlier this month after a reign that spanned 70 years due to various health complications. He was 88. CDG
