CEBU CITY – A 38-year-old Korean national was reported to be in critical condition after he allegedly shot himself in the head on a bench in a garden across the Pag-IBIG building inside the Cebu Business Park in Cebu City on Monday morning.

Myung Keung Kang, 38, a temporary resident of Lapulapu City, was seen smoking a cigarette about 6 a.m. before witnesses were jolted by a burst of gunfire.

Myung slumped on the ground, bleeding. A .38 caliber pistol was found near his hand, said PO3 Cristobal Geronimo of the Cebu City Police Office homicide section.

He was rushed to the nearby hospital where he remained in critical condition.

His Filipina wife told the police that Myung owed money to another Korean who was already demanding payment.

Before the shooting, he sent a text message to his wife –“goodbye, My love.”  SFM
