MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine Navy started Friday a four-day war games where the largest contingent of naval vessels will participate.
The “Exercise Pagbubuklod 2011” will run until Sunday at the Philippine Fleet headquarters in Sangley Point, Cavite City, Navy Captain Albert Mogol, exercise director of Pagbubuklod 2011, said.
Twelve naval vessels, two Naval aircraft and two Special Boat teams of the Naval Special Operations Group (NAVSOG) will join the war games which will be conducted in Manila Bay and the Luzon Sea, said Mogol.
The naval exercise “aims to enhance the interoperability and surface warfare operations of the different Forces and Units of the Philippine Fleet,” the Navy said.
“Training among our troops and vessels is vital for the Philippine Navy to ensure interoperability, teamwork and rapid response during real emergency situations if the need arises,” Mogol said.
The Navy will also conduct training on search and rescue missions, maritime surveillance including search and seizure operations, aerial spotting, night encounter exercise, visual communications exercise, engineering casualty drills, officer on Watch Maneuvers and gunner exercise.
