WATCH: Filipino student’s climate change video a finalist in UN tilt

In a bid to promote shaping a more sustainable future among the youth, a United Nations secretariat, together with other groups, launched the 2016 Global Youth Video Competition on Climate Change on September 1.
The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat last Wednesday announced the 40 videos which have been listed as finalists.

There are two categories in the said competition: Climate Action and Public Awareness. Under the Climate Action category, only one video of a Filipino has been shortlisted.

Jayson D. Villagomez, a student of Master of Arts in English as a Second Language at De La Salle University-Dasmariñas, made it as a finalist with his video entitled “Green Your Choice, Green Your Lifestyle” which featured his advocacy to encourage people to make informed decisions and better lifestyle choice

The competition organized by the Action for Climate Empowerment, the UNFCCC secretariat, in partnership with Television for the Environment, supported by the Global Environment Facility’s Small Grants Programme and run by the UN Development Programme received entries from young people ages 18 to 30 around the world. Youth from 77 countries participated.
