Rising singer-songwriter Lisa Danaë releases new EP

SAN JOSE, California – Lisa Danaë, a talented and passionate Filipino American singer-songwriter, started performing at the tender age of three, thrilled to be singing along with her Disney tapes while putting on a show for her stuffed animals.
Shortly after, she received her first microphone and boom box, which only fueled her desire to become a singer. Finally in the fourth grade, she joined the school choir and her singing has only grown stronger since then. Now, she is fully embarked on a singing career, releasing her newest EP last August 19.
Danaë’s Patience can be downloaded and heard on iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play, Spotify and SoundCloud. Earlier this year she released one single off the EP, “Big Bad Wolf,” as a preview.
Danaë is an avid musician who plays and writes with passion from her own experiences and ideas. Once a month, people can watch her perform at Selma’s Pizza & Tap Room in Ladera Ranch, California. Aiming to widen her horizons and find more opportunities to grow her music, Danaë is exploring more performance venues in Los Angeles.
Born in Rosemead, California, she grew up nearby in Ladera Ranch. Danaë had a simple yet fulfilling childhood as an only child. She notes that at times it was lonely, but she had two pets that kept her company. Besides her two pets, parents and going to school, Danaë filled her time with music, which grew from a hobby into a passion-driven career.
“My parents’ recognized my dream of becoming a singer at a very young age, but they never pushed it further to make it a career when I was a child,” she recalls. “I know that they had the opportunities to do so, but they didn’t want me to miss out on my childhood. Of course, when I found out about this, I was pretty bummed, but looking back on it, I appreciate the fact that they didn’t take my childhood away from me.”
Danaë is a proud Filipino American who appreciates what being a part of two cultures has added to her life. “I love being part of two cultures. When I was younger, there were not a lot of Filipinos residing in southern Orange County, California. But, kids didn’t exclude me and they loved learning about the Filipino traditions and food,” Danaë stated.
She considers icons such as Etta James and Christina Aguilera as her inspirations. She grew up in a music-loving household that introduced her to a wide variety of genres, from AC/DC and Queen to Janet Jackson and Céline Dion.

“I love the crowd’s energy,” Danaë says of performing live. “It makes me happy when I see them happy, see them dancing, singing a long, and just seeing them appreciating my songs.”
She adds: “I love knowing that people are connecting with my songs’ lyrics and music and I think they like knowing that there is someone else out there that have feelings for whatever they are going through. I get to see that when I play live.”
Besides loving music and songwriting, Danaë is also a fashion and makeup enthusiast. She also enjoys decorating and making her style and look appear fun, fresh, and unique. All of this adds to her creative juices.
She is continually growing her own brand and making a name for herself in the entertainment industry. When she is done recording in the studio, writing new lyrics, or performing on stage, she likes to relax at Disneyland or going to the beach with some of her closest friends and her family.
“This is all I have ever wanted to do in life. I love entertaining and I hope that I can encourage others that they can achieve their dreams as well,” Danaë declares. “My parents and I have been taken advantage of many times throughout this journey and it’s been very tough. But I know my time is coming. I am very grateful for everyone that has been with me from day one and has continually supported my dreams.”
