US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump took to social media to air his two cents on President Rodrigo Duterte’s expletive-laced remarks against US President Barack Obama.

In a seemingly sarcastic tone, Trump said the reception that Obama received in international forum in the past few days was “terrible.”

“China wouldn’t provide a red carpet stairway from Air Force One and then Philippines President calls Obama ‘the son of a whore.’ Terrible!”

Trump was referring to the reported snub that Obama received from Chinese leaders at the G20 summit in Beijing, where the latter was not provided a staircase upon touching down from his plane.

Before leaving for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) summit in Laos, Duterte threatened to throw expletives at Obama should he “lecture” him on human rights and extrajudicial killings at the leaders’ meeting.

Washington had called off the scheduled bilateral meeting between the two following Duterte’s comments.
