218 Pardo school pupils join summer storytelling session

A TOTAL of 218 students of Pardo Elementary School in Cebu City were having fun during the summer storytelling session.

Smart Communications Inc. has partnered with Sun.Star Superbalita, Cebu Daily News and the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) in storytelling sessions for incoming grade 1 pupils in preparation for the opening of classes in June.

Four sessions are scheduled this month until early June, just before the start of the regular school year.

Smart held a trainors’ training last month to orient the volunteers composed of employees, teachers from the Pardo Elementary School and USJ-R about the storytelling sessions.

FEATURED STORIES

Aside from reading stories, the volunteers will include games and song and dance numbers in each session.

This initiative is under the Kabalikat, Smart’s corporate social responsibility program, which also includes feeding project and CommuniTeach.
