New look for new passport

The Department of Foreign Affairs on Thursday said the electronic passport with new designs and security features has rolled out last Monday, making it more difficult for syndicates to replicate it.

“Each page of the new e-passport contains the lines of the Philippine national anthem and features tourist destinations such as Mayon Volcano and Banawe Rice Terraces,” DFA spokesperson Charles Jose said in a press briefing.

The new e-passport uses highly secured Intaglio printing that is used only by government printers.

It also contains different designs for every page with embedded security features.

With the new e-passport, the price will remain at P950 each and P1,200 for those who want a seven-day processing time.
