Casuals, job order and project-based employees of the municipalities of Tabogon and Borbon in northern Cebu were enrolled with the Pag-Ibig Fund Cebu North branch under the self-employed category.
The chief executives of the two local government units (LGUs) agreed to deduct two percent from the employees’ monthly compensation every month.
The LGU will then remit the collection directly to Pag-Ibig Fund.
One of the advantages of the agreement is that job order employees do not need to go to the Pag-Ibig office to pay their monthly dues, saving time and unnecessary expenses.
The newly enrolled employees are now entitled to the full benefits granted by Pag-Ibig Fund like housing loan, short-term loan/multi-purpose loan or calamity loan subject to the existing guidelines.
Borbon and Tabogon composed the second batch of LGUs in Cebu that registered their job order employees with Pag-Ibig.
The municipalities of Medellin and San Remegio and Bogo City also in northern Cebu have already agreed to start registering and remitting the contributions of their job order employees for the month of April this year.
The marketing and enforcement staff of Pag-Ibig Cebu North have already conducted an orientation briefing to the job order employees of Medellin and San Remegio on March 24 and Bogo City on April 7.
Recently, Pag-Ibig Fund Cebu North visited and talked to the officials of the City Government of Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu while the other LGUs are already in the pipeline.
Pag–Ibig Cebu North encourages other LGUs to emulate what the LGUs of Medellin, San Remegio, Bogo City , Borbon and Tabogon have done.
