In a text message, Department of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Charles Jose told INQUIRER.net that they “have not received report of any Filipino among those injured.”

In a radio interview, consul general Aileen Mendiola Rau said the French government’s crisis committee has yet to release the identities and nationalities of the casualties.

We expect that there are Filipinos outside but hopefully they are not in the area of incident),” she added.

Rau said there are “a couple of hundreds” of Filipinos in Nice, majority of whom are household members.

At least 80 people were killed after a truck slammed into revelers watching a fireworks display for Bastille Day celebration.
