Yes, you can still eat the food that you like as long as you know how to combine your food correctly. If you do this, you will see tremendous results in just two weeks. You can dramatically increase your energy, eliminate stomach ailments, lose weight and feel good by properly combining your food.
Proper food combining simply creates the environment for a successful weight loss. If you can eat food and how it go through your stomach in three hours instead of eight then you’re going to pick up more energy as that food goes through the intestines with great ease. Food combining is based on the discovery that certain combinations of food may be digested with greater ease and efficiency than others. The successful results obtained through the principles of food combining can be explained and substantiated by the facts of physiological chemistry, particularly the chemistry of digestion.
A survey has revealed that 60 to 80 percent of our population is overweight. A great deal of that can be attributed to the fact that we eat food haphazardly and combine them indiscriminately. Let me explain this. Take for example, the usual diet of meat and rice. When protein (meat) and carbohydrates (rice) are eaten together, it takes too much energy to digest that meal. The body gets confused and cannot manufacture the necessary enzymes to properly digest the food. The undigested food just sits in the stomach for hours. The protein being in the stomach for so long (eight hours to digest) has putrified and most of the carbohydrates has fermented. Foods that have been putrified or fermented generate toxic acids in the body. Putrification and fermentation cause side effects such as gas, bloating, abdominal pain and acid indigestion.
Eating certain foods together interferes with digestion, which ultimately leads to poor health and unwanted excess pounds. Eating “starch-rich” foods in combination with “protein-rich” foods is the most common mistake people make in their diet. Avoiding this mistake is the underlying premise behind food combining, because eating proteins and starches together unnecessarily taxes the digestive system. Proteins and starches require different digestive enzymes, which function at different ph levels in the body. Pepsin digests protein in the highly acidic enevironment of the stomach and starches prefer alkaline environment such as the intestines. Acids and alkalines neutralize each other. When you eat proteins and starches together, everything gets neutralized and nothing gets digested. We derive absolutely no nutritional value from undigested food. It just rots in our stomachs.
Here are guidelines to food combining:
*Do not eat proteins and starches together. Your body requires an acid base to digest proteins and an alkaline base to digest starches. Proteins and starches combine well with green, leafy vegetables and non-starchy vegetables, but they do not combine well with each other.
*Do not mix fruit with proteins, starches, or any kind of vegetable. Fruits digest so quickly that by the time they reach your stomach they are already partially digested. If they are combined with other foods, they will rot and ferment. Only eat fruits with other fruits.
*Do not mix acid and/or sub-acid fruits with sweet fruits at the same meal. Acid fruits, such as apples, grapes, mangoes and peaches but neither of these categories can be mixed with sweet fruits such as bananas, dates or raisins.
*Eat only four to six different fruits or vegetables at one meal.
*Fats and oils combine with everything (except fruits) but should be used in limited amounts
because while they won’t inhibit digestion, they will slow it down.
Wait for the following lengths of time between meals that don’t combine:
*Two hours after eating fruit
*Three hours after eating starches
*Four hours after eating proteins
