SAN FRANCISCO — The Asian Heritage Street Celebration is back to feature all things Asian Pacific Islander, from delicious specialty foods to an array of unique arts and crafts world market vendors, two stages with a full lineup of talented performers, notable API authors, healthy living booths and so much more.
The celebration will be at UN Plaza, San Francisco on Saturday, May 21 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free.
The Asian Heritage Street Celebration is a celebration of all API cultures, with the goal of promoting and fostering Asian Pacific Islander American identity and to enable cross cultural interaction through the sharing of differences and appreciation of diversity.
This festival brings together communities through the showcasing of cultures, promoting Asian inspired arts and crafts and food vendors, fundraising and health awareness programs, and entertaining activities for visitors and participants.
Created by Teddy Fang and the AsianWeek Foundation, the Asian Heritage Street Celebration is presented by the Oakland Asian Cultural Center, which is dedicated to building vibrant communities through APIA arts and culture programs that foster intergenerational and crosscultural dialogue, cultural identity, collaborations, and social justice.
Featured events include World Team USA’s LEGENDS Championship Muay Thai and MMA fights to be televised on FoxSports PrimeTicket, as well as a Faces of Asia cultural procession along with several other notable multicultural performers and Asian American authors through Eastwind Books of Berkeley.
