Yasay accepts DFA post in Duterte administration
DAVAO CITY – Former Securities and Exchange Commission chair Perfecto Yasay Jr. has accepted his designation as acting foreign affairs secretary of presumptive President-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s administration, the spokesperson of Duterte’s media team said Wednesday.
Peter Laviña told the Philippine Daily Inquirer by text that Yasay has already made “preliminary contact buildings.”
“I also shared with him foreign policy issues raised during the campaign,” Laviña said.
On his Facebook page, Laviña also wrote that Yasay “also now handles requests from various embassies for briefing on the new Duterte administration.” SFM
