Immigration official quits
Associate commissioner Gilbert Repizo of the Bureau of Immigration resigned from his post over alleged removal of his staff in the port operations.
Bureau spokesperson Nikki Reyes confirmed on Friday that Repizo resigned and President Benigno Aquino III accepted his resignation.
Repizo figured last year in the controversial reversal of deportation case of Chinese fugitive Wang Bo who was accused of bribing congressmen to secure the passage of the Bangsamoro Basic Law.
Sources at the immigration agency, however, said the resignation was in connection with the transfer of Repizo’s appointed staff at the Port Operations.
