Finnish loses P15K to women who befriended, drugged and robbed her in QC

MANILA — A Finnish national who is on vacation in the country lost more than P15,000 to a group of women who befriended her and supposedly drugged her over the weekend.

Anne Maria Elisabft told the police on Sunday that she lost her cash of P8,000 and 150 euros (P7,776) that was placed inside her wallet after she agreed to have lunch with three unidentified women in their house somewhere in Sto. Domingo, Quezon City, on Saturday.

PO3 Marlon dela Vega of the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit said that the 29-year-old tourist was approached by the women at around 4 p.m. on Friday, while she was strolling around Intramuros. He added that the women befriended the victim and invited her to dinner somewhere in Manila, to which Elisabft politely declined.

Elisabft told police  that around noon on Saturday, the women came to her hotel in Makati City and again invited her to lunch in their house in Quezon City, to which she obliged.

Dela Vega said that after having lunch, the victim and the women drank a couple bottles of beer. The victim, however, said she felt dizzy and fell unconscious after having only two glasses of beer.

Upon waking up a couple hours later, the victim said the women then hailed a cab and brought her back to her hotel. It was only in the hotel that she realized that her wallet was already emptied of its cash.

Dela Vega said that the victim tried but failed to remember and locate the thieves’ residence. He added that the victim only wished to place the robbery on record.  SFM
