Indonesian doctor files theft rap vs hospital employee for stealing bag in Manila

MANILA — A 30-year-old Indonesian doctor filed theft charges against a 59-year-old hospital employee for stealing her bag at the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center in Manila.

The case investigator, Police Officer 3 Randolph Pellesco, said Diana Iskandar was willing to forgive had suspect Alicia Ragiado, who was captured by surveillance camera stealing her bag, apologized.

“But the suspect kept denying it despite our evidence against her. She claimed that she only kept the bag for safekeeping,” Pellesco said in an interview.

The alleged theft happened on February 19 while Iskandar was in the operating room, and Ragiado, who was connected with Metropolitan Hospital in Binondo, watched over her patient.

Pellesco said upon Iskander’s complaint, Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center checked the footage and saw Ragiado taking her bag away.

The hospital coordinated with Ragiado’s patient, who also happened to be a friend, so she would return the bag, which she did on February 20. Pellesco said Iskandar only wanted an apology but the suspect refused to apologize.  SFM
