TWO men were arrested after two fellow passengers, who turned out to be policemen, caught them trying to steal a prayer book from a 70-year-old woman inside a passenger jeepney on Saturday morning in A.C. Cortes Avenue, barangay Guizo, Mandaue City.

The two policemen, PO3 Edmund Bilocura and PO2 Brian Berenguer, arrested Eljake ‘Opaw’ Buhion, 39, of barangay Pagsabungan, Mandaue City and Rogelio ‘Ogie’ Garcia, 45, of Pasil, Cebu City.

The policemen noticed the theft after the prayer book they lifted from Luisito Garciano’s pocket fell on the jeepney floor from the suspect’s black bag.
The policemen said the bag contained pawnshop receipts and P88 cash.
