The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 1 will temporarily serve as the disembarkation point for arriving Philippine Airlines (PAL) flights from Los Angeles from Jan. 15 through March 24.
Cielo Villaluna, PAL’s external communications head and spokesperson, explained that the Manila-bound PAL flights from the Los Angeles International Airport covered by the new arrangement are those leaving Los Angeles on Jan. 13 until March 22.
According to Villaluna, PAL flights arriving from the San Francisco International Airport have also been using the Naia Terminal 1 as a disembarkation point since last month. The arrangement will also continue until March 24.
Passengers of other arriving international flights will still disembark at the Naia Terminal 2, which serves as the flag carrier’s base of operations.
Villaluna said that the move to use Terminal 1 for US arrivals was intended to ease the effects of the peak travel period by reducing passenger volume in Terminal 2. Using both terminals will facilitate passenger arrival procedures, she said. Jeannette I. Andrade
