Pagulayan, Parica continue winning ways in California

ALEX “The Lion” Pagulayan and Jose “Amang” Parica hurdled their respective rivals in the 2nd Annual Hard Times 10-ball in Bellflower, California yesterday.

The Cabagan, Isabela native Pagulayan bested Jonathan Demet, 9-5, while the West Covina-based Parica routed Dave Hemmah, 9-5. Pagulayan’s next opponent is Chris Bartram, a 9-5 winner over Oscar Dominguez. Parica, on the other hand, will meet Kenichi Uchigaki, who beat Macalelon, Quezon native Santos “The Saint” Sambajon, 9-4.

Earlier, the former WPA World 9-ball champion Pagulayan defeated Lorry de Leon, 9-1, Jenny Lee,9-2, and Brandon Shuff, 9-3, while Parica nipped Chris Wedekind, 9-3, Jun Almoite, 9-4,and Stan Tourangeau, 9-4, respectively./correspondent MARLON BERNARDINO
