Aquino names new envoy to Spain

AFTER two years of preparing President Aquino’s overseas travels and meetings with world leaders, Chief of Presidential Protocol Celia Anna Feria has been rewarded with a posting abroad.

President Aquino has appointed Feria as the new Philippine ambassador to Spain with concurrent jurisdiction over the Principality of Andorra.

Based on a transmittal letter to Foreign Secretary Albert del Rosario, Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. said the President signed Feria’s appointment letter on Dec. 29.

Feria was appointed chief of protocol in January 2013.

As chief of protocol, Feria accompanied the President in all his official visits and laid down programs for visiting foreign leaders. Gil Cabacungan
