MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila on Thursday said that initial reports showed no Filipino casualties in the Saudi fire that killed at least 25 people and injured a hundred others.

“Initial but still unconfirmed report from Jazan says no Filipino casualties in the fire,” Charles Jose, spokesperson for the DFA, said in a text message.

Jose noted that most of the casualties in the overnight fire that took place at a Saudi hospital were bed-ridden patients.
