MANILA, Philippines—President Benigno Aquino III early Friday morning arrived from his trip to the US still excited at how the Philippines became one of the centers of attention in an international forum on good governance.
Mr. Aquino’s plane landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport around 2:45 a.m.
“As I told the foreigners we talked with, good governance is good economics,” President Aquino said in his arrival speech.
“It is indeed a major change. Before, we are exporting horror stories about the situation in our country. Now, we have many invitations to share the best practices here in the Philippines,” he added.
