Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Wednesday urged his fellow Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) members to combat terrorism, following confirmation that a bomb caused the Oct. 31 crash of a Russian plane that killed all 224 passengers.

During the Apec CEO Summit in Manila, Medvedev also cited the series of attacks in Paris, including the attack in Bataclan concert hall, which resulted in the deaths of 129 people.

The Islamic State (Isis) has claimed responsibility over both attacks.
“Needless to say, the terrorist attack that Russia and France have survived through had an impact over the whole world. Terrorism spreading is a truly global challenge, a challenge to the whole, civilized world,” Medvedev said.
He said the challenge for Apec is to craft a solution to terrorism through coordination among member economies in a common goal to stamp out the threat.
“This challenge requires joint answer, coordinated and truly concerted action The explosion of the Russian aircraft which took 224 lives and the killings in Paris, that is not a crime against one country, that is a crime against the whole world,” Medvedev said.
