US Navy’s Free Concert in Cebu City

06:49 PM September 21, 2011

On their last day in Cebu, the U.S. Navy’s 7th Fleet Band will hold a free concert on Wednesday, September 21 starting at 6 p.m. at Fuente Osmeña Circle in Cebu City.  The public is invited to enjoy an evening of American music courtesy of the U.S. Embassy, in cooperation with the Cebu City Government.

The band’s contemporary music ensemble, The Orient Express, will perform a wide variety of music by popular American singers, including old favorites from Stevie Wonder and Journey, to newer tunes from the Black Eyed Peas, and Katie Perry.  The eight-piece group traveled to Cebu to perform for the public during the U.S. Embassy’s road show “America in 3D” that was held this past weekend at SM City Cebu.

The 7th Fleet Band is based in Yokosuka, Japan, and has performed for millions of people throughout the Western Pacific.  The band visits the Philippines from time to time, and has performed at venues across the country.

Bring your friends and family–no tickets are required, and the performance is absolutely free.
