SAN FRANCISCO – Filipino American writers, friends and family members of the late Philippine National Artist in Literature NVM Gonzalez will celebrate the 100 anniversary of his birth. The gathering in NVM’s honor will take place at the Philippine Consulate, 5th Floor, at 6 p.m. on September 11.
NVM Gonzalez, born on September 8, 1915, left a lasting influence on writers he mentored, or taught at California universities. These students are now writers, mentors and teachers themselves.
The event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Philippine Consulate, Philippine American Writers and Artists, Philippine Folklife Museum, Philippine Studies City College of San Francisco.
