Kulintronica album release party set for Sept. 26 in Oakland
SAN FRANCISCO – An album by the artist Kulintronica will be officially released September 26 at Somar Bar in Oakland, California.
Kulintronica is on a “mission” to make the kulintang a household word by fusing the sound of the ancient Filipino gong instrument with electronic dance music.
Kulintronica partnered with both Plural Music and OPM Republic to produce a unique entertainment experience for guests at the album launch, including a “Kulintropical Drink” sponsored by Infanta Lambanog, Filipino comfort food by Kainbigan and other surprises at Somar Bar in the heart of uptown Oakland.
As a product of San Francisco’s eclectic multicultural and multidisciplinary art scene, Kulintronica was once a guitar and bass player in various groups. Solidifying his work ethic, getting command of different tempos and incorporating more technology into his instrument, his artistic direction led him to lead an improvisational live looping dance band, until a cultural awakening led him down a new exciting direction.
