2011 Kulinarya Semi-finals Set

SAN FRANCISCO—The Philippine Consulate General including its attached agencies, Department of Tourism, Department of Trade and Industry, Philippine National Police, and Philippine Center Management Board invites contestants to the 2nd Kulinarya Showdown. Chefs, cooks, students and culinary enthusiasts can join this challenging Philippine culinary showdown.

This contest is divided into two divisions: Professional and Amateur, and is open to residents of the United States who are at least 18 years of age.  Professionals are considered professional chef, instructor, or educator, who is currently or who had been employed in that capacity. An amateur competitor must not have/had been employed in any restaurant nor be a culinary instructor or educator.

The Qualifying Round for Kulinarya 2011 will be held on October 22, 2011 from 10AM-3PM. The winners of the Qualifying Round; three (3) each in the Amateur and Professional Divisions, will then compete in the Final Round in December 2011.

A distinguished panel of judges will be selecting the top three competitors in each division based on the following criteria: taste, creativity, and presentation. The grand winner of each category will receive a round trip ticket to the Philippines and a tour to Philippines culinary destinations, gift certificates and other fabulous prizes. Final details of Qualifying Round including venue will be announced shortly.
