Cops have composite sketch of gunman in Singaporean’s slay

Police have come up with a facial composite sketch of one of the two suspects in the killing of a Singaporean national in Parañaque on Aug. 5.

Chief Insp. Arnold Dugas, the city’s investigation chief, however, refused to release the sketch — which he said was completed last week — to the media, so as not to jeopardize police operations.

“He might get scared and run away,” Dugas said.

He said the sketch was based on descriptions of witnesses to the killing of Stanlex Jang, 35, inside Deltatronix in Barangay Don Bosco, which police said he owned.

Dugas said a sketch had not been made of the suspect’s other cohort since the witnesses could not remember how he looked like.

“But we are already looking for the one we have a sketch of. Hopefully we can get more information from him so we can identify the other one,” he said.

According to Dugas, based on the manner of killing, it appeared the two suspects were “newbie” hired killers.

“Only hired killers would do something like that,” Dugas said, as he noted the brazen manner in which the two gunmen barged inside the establishment and killed the Singaporean national.

He said they appeared to be amateurs though as they did not “even bother to check” if their target had died.

“Usually it’s like that. After shooting once, you make sure he is dead. E they just shot once and left,” he said.

Dugas said hopefully, any one of the suspects, once arrested, would point to the mastermind.

Senior Supt. Ariel Andrade, the city’s chief of police, said so far, police have been looking at the possibility the killing was business-related.

“But I can’t tell you more because our operation might be jeopardized,” he said.

The Philippine Daily Inquirer learnt that the victim was involved in a legal squabble over property.

At 12:12 p.m., the two gunmen who both wore bullcaps forced themselves inside the establishment that sold gadgets on Doña Soledad Ave.

Once inside, one of the killers reportedly shouted “Where is your boss?!,” barged inside the room where Jang was, and shot him in the left portion of the face.

The two hitmen left the crime scene casually.
