Ramar Foods backs San Francisco’s 22nd Pistahan Aug. 8-9
PITTSBURG, California – Now in it’s 22nd year, the annual Pistahan Parade and Festival in San Francisco has been billed as one of the largest celebrations of Filipino Americans in the U.S., with the two-day event expected to draw over 150,000 during the August 8-9 weekend.
This free event organized by the Filipino American Arts Exposition gives San Francisco Bay Area residents a chance to experience the best of Filipino art, dance, music and food.
Kicking off the weekend’s festivities is the Pistahan Parade that starts at 10:00 a.m. at San Francisco’s Civic Center. This year, title sponsor Ramar Foods, will be in the parade showcasing the largest tub of their signature Magnolia Ube ice-cream that has ever been seen before.
The parade ends at the Yerba Buena Gardens at 11a.m. where the community can cool off and enjoy authentic Magnolia Ice-Cream scoops and milk bars and have an opportunity to snap pictures in front of the largest tub of Magnolia Ice-Cream.

Article continues after this advertisementCelebrating the many flavors of Philippine cuisine, aspiring foodies are invited to discover the Culinary Pavilion sponsored this year by the Filipino Food Movement to experience the delicious flavors of a “home away from home.”
Continuing with popular Pistahan tradition, the Culinary Pavilion will also be host to the renowned food contests – Mama Sita’s Balut Eating Contest and the Magnolia Ice Cream Purple Freeze Challenge, where contestants can race against the clock, and each other, to win prizes. Ramar will also be serving up samples of everyone’s favorite summer treat – Magnolia® Tropical Ice Cream and Milk Bars featuring fruits grown in the Philippines and made in California since 1972.
Delicious Filipino cuisine will be showcased in several creative and delicious ways for the entire family to enjoy at the Culinary Pavilion.
