Woman stabbed by lover; daughter raped

Suspect drunk, high on drugs during incident

A trisikad driver allegedly stabbed and wounded his live-in partner then raped the woman’s daughter in Balamban town, western Cebu.

A manhunt operation is ongoing against the suspect identified as Romel Climaco.

Mila and Liza (not their real names) were rescued by a driver of a V-hire vehicle who found them sitting by the road after they fled their house.

Mila said the man was drunk and high on drugs when the incident happened at 4 a.m. yesterday.

Mila said the man forced her to stay outside the house. While she was outside the house, the man allegedly raped her 11-year-old daughter.

Mila said she and her daughter found a chance to escape when the man slept.

The mother and daughter were seen at the side of the road by Germano Baron, 44, driver of a V-hire, who brought them to the Cebu City Police Office (CPPO).

SPO2 Rogelio Nedamo, investigator of the CPPO, said Mila was already pale when they brought them to a hospital in Cebu City.

Balamban police were then informed of the incident and conducted a hot pursuit operation against the suspect.

Police said that in a follow-up investigation, Liza revealed that the suspect had raped her several times and warned her not to tell anybody.
