While security guard was asleep, customer robs gas station in Bogo

A LONE robber had his motorcycle refueled before robbing the cashier-pumpboy of a gas station along a national highway in barangay Taytayan, Bogo City, northern Cebu.

It didn’t help that the gas station’s security guard was asleep when the robbery occurred at dawn yesterday, said PO3 Allan Dosdos, investigator of the Bogo City police.

Demar Maitum, 21, cashier -pumpboy of Madel-Petron Gas Station owned by Edelberto Dilao, told police that an unidentified man driving a red Yamaha motorcycle arrived past 3 a.m.

The man refueled his motorcycle for P50.

Maitum said that instead of paying, the man pulled out a gun and declared a holdup.

Maitum said he was forced to give P2,900 in earnings to the robber, who fled after taking the money.

Maitum said the robber was between 30 and 40 years old, 5’4 in height and wore shorts during the robbery.

Police said Johnrey Conde Velez, 23, of CLEMPCO Security Agency, was sleeping when the robber arrived.

Dosdos said the gas station was not well-lighted. Police said it was the third time that the gas station was robbed.

Police said the gas station owner, Edelberto Dilao, had been advised to improve the lighting of the establishment following the previous robberies.
