ANGELES CITY, Philippines—-Police here have coordinated with the police attache of the South Korean embassy so they can identify eight Korean men who allegedly raped a Filipina on Sunday night, an official said.
Investigators have also coordinated with leaders of the Korean community in Angeles City to get help in identifying the suspects, Supt. Eden Ugale, city police director, said on Tuesday.
Police said the 23-year-old woman, who worked in one of the bars here and is a native of Plaridel town in Bulacan, would soon file rape charges upon getting a copy of a medico-legal test done on her.
She told investigators that a male Korean friend sent her a text message at about 10 p.m. on Sunday instructing her to meet him at a hotel on Fields Avenue.
From that hotel, she said eight Koreans fetched her and took her to another hotel in nearby Barangay (village) Anunas.
The woman said the suspects inserted a bottle of liquor into her genital, choked her using a string and threatened to kill her.
