Filipino, German die as boat sinks off Bahrain–coast guard

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – Two men, a German and a Filipino, have drowned after the boat they were aboard sank in Gulf waters off Bahrain, the official BNA news agency quoted the coast guard as saying.

Another four passengers, whose nationalities were not given, were rescued following the incident Friday near the King Fahd Causeway linking the archipelago with Saudi Arabia.

They were said to be in good health.

Details were not immediately available on the type of the vessel, which was towed to a nearby naval base.
