Someone’s dream of flying abroad and expanding his or her horizons may now be in reach after the country’s flag carrier, Philippine Airlines Inc. (PAL), and budget carrier, Cebu Air Inc. (Cebu Pacific), announced the hiring of additional cabin crew.

Airline companies said the recruitment was in line with the expansion of their respective domestic and international routes.

PAL announced holding a two-day cabin attendant Job Expo on June 5 and 6.

To qualify for the job, an applicant must be a Filipino citizen, 18-27 years old and a college graduate. Females should be at least 5’3” in height, and males at least 5’6”. They must have good visual impact: clear complexion and vision, good set of teeth, and a pleasing personality. Vision must be 20/20 or 20/30.

Cebu Pacific and Cebgo (formerly Tiger Airways Philippines) announced the opening of 100 cabin crew jobs, following the Gokongwei-owned airlines’ plans of expanding in Asia, the Pacific, and the Middle East.

Recruitment fairs in nine key cites opened on May 30 and would be open until next month.

Cebu Pacific would be hiring in Manila at the Cebu Pacific Building on June 27 for female applicants and on July 4 for male applicants.

Qualifications for filling the vacancies include an age from 18 to 25 years old, a dynamic personality, height of at least 5’3” for females and 5’7” for males, weight that is proportional to height, clear complexion and good eyesight, among others. John Lester Q. Alos/trainee/CB
