Republicans to hold Vegas event to honor Asian Americans

LAS VEGAS — The Republican National Committee (RNC) will celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage month with an event Saturday, May 16 at 11:30 a.m. at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino here.

The event will feature Republican speakers, including RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, Sen. Dean Heller (Nevada), Rep. Crescent Hardy (Nevada), US Delegate to Congress and RNC National Committee Amata Radewagen (American Samoa), Nevada Lt. Gov. Mark Hutchison and Filipino American Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes.

Speakers will discuss the importance of the Asian Pacific American (APA) voting bloc in the 2016 presidential election, particularly in Nevada.

Other attendees will include members of Nevada’s Asian American and Pacific Islander community, and GOP volunteers and supporters. The event is part of the RNC’s engagement with APA communities nationwide.
