LOOK: Veloso’s letters to Filipino youth, women, those who wronged her
AS the Philippine government scrambles to save the life of Mary Jane Veloso who is on death row for drug smuggling, the 30-year-old mother of two wrote letters to the Filipino youth, fellow women and those who have wronged her.
The letters written in Filipino and obtained by Migrante International, showed Veloso’s advice to various sectors.
In her letter to the youth, Veloso discouraged them from using prohibited drugs, adding that it won’t bring them any good.
Don’t use or sell illegal drugs. It will not bring you any good and it will ruin your life. I believe that you will have a bright future if you stay away from drugs),” her letter read.
She also said that the youth is the hope of the nation.
In her letter to fellow Filipinas, Veloso said that should they decide to work abroad, they must abide by the legal procedures. Meanwhile, the 30-year-old mother of two said that she hopes that those who have a hand in her arrest will listen to their conscience. She said despite the ordeal she went through, she continues to pray for those who have wronged her.
