HONOLULU –Acclaimed young romantic comedy director Antoinette Jadaone is coming to Hawaii for a series of publicity events to promote her film “That Thing Called Tadhana,” which will be featured at the Honolulu Museum of Art as part of this year’s 7th Annual Filipino Film Festival.

“Tadhana,” Filipino term for destiny, is the story of a broken-hearted girl who meets a boy who helps her get over her feelings in an ultimate road-trip.

The film’s charm and wit showcases Jadaone’s genius in scriptwriting. Its poster quotes a verse from a Whitney Houston song “Where Do Broken Hearts Go?”

The blockbuster film has grossed more than $110,000 since its release in US theaters.

Jadaone will be at the Philippine Consulate in Honolulu on April 27 at 6 p.m. for a meet-and-greet organized by the University of the Philippines Alumni Association of Hawaii. It is free and open to the public. Jadaone will be available to answer questions. Light refreshements will be served.

At the closing of the Filipino Film Festival on April 28, the Filipino Association of University Women will host Jadaone for cocktail hour at 6:00 p.m. before she introduces her film at 7:30 p.m.

The film will be shown at the Doris Duke Theatre and tickets are available online for $10 at honolulumuseum.org. For questions, call (808) 291-9407.
