SAN FRANCISCO — A new package has been added to the Ambassadors, Consuls General and Tourism Directors Tour (ACGTD) now on its 10th year. Apart from Manila, stops in “charming” Central Philippines sites have been as part of the “Visit the Philippines 2015 Year.”

Consul General Henry S. Bensurto, Jr. announced this addition. “We have 7,107 islands, and therefore, we have so much to showcase our visitors. I’m glad we are bringing the participants to Central Philippines this year,” said Bensurto.

“The ACGTDT will enable Filipino Americans, especially those from the second and third generations, to reconnect with their roots and encourage them to discover the Philippines, its people, and its rich culture and traditions,” he added.

According to Philippine Department of Tourism Director Purificacion Suanding-Molintas, the basic tour will run from July 6 to 9, 2015, with Cebu as the main highlight, being another gateway to the Philippines.

“In Cebu, they join the Suroy-Suroy sa Sugbu Tour, which will take them to places south of the City such as Carcar, Argao and Sibonga,” said Molintas. “These three localities are known for their industries, Spanish architecture and pilgrimage sites,” she added.

Bensurto explained that as the Central Philippines islands take the center stage in this year’s ACGTD, organizers have prepared optional tours, after the basic package, to world famous destinations such as Mactan, Boracay, Bohol and Palawan.

With Manila as the first stop, participants will still be able to visit popular attractions such as Intramuros, Fort Santiago and Luneta, and even the ABS-CBN Studio, as well as optional tours to Corregidor Island, or pamper themselves with spa and beauty treatments.

This year’s international air carriers will be Philippine Airlines and China Airlines. Domestic flights will be serviced by Philippine Airlines. Pacific Air Leisure Services will consolidate the package while Rajah Tours Philippines is the official provider for land arrangements. The Department of Tourism Regional Offices in the National Capital Region, Regions 4B, 6 and 7, will provide assistance to all the traveling guests.

The entire tour will cost US$2,038 or US$2,113 for a four-day-three-night-, or five-day-four-night-trip that is inclusive of roundtrip international and domestic airfares, and hotel stays at Sofitel in Manila and Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu.
