SAN FRANCISCO – A free volunteer-based, local community clinic needs preceptors to oversee medical student volunteers.

Mabuhay Health Center (MHC), a University of California-San Francisco (UCSF) student-run, free community health clinic in the South of Market, needs the preceptors for its clinic, which is held every second Saturday at Bayanihan Community Center, located at 1010 Mission Street.

The Mabuhay Health Center targets underserved Filipino American residents of San Francisco’s South of Market (SOMA) District. It was founded in 2009 through the efforts of community members, undergraduate students from Bay Area universities and health professional students from UCSF Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry and Nursing.

MHC provides heath coaching, health education to youth, health screening, behavioral health resources, history and physicals, medication therapy management, dental education, and resource referrals.

MHC strives to empower communities, foster the educational development of student volunteers, and bridge gaps in access to health care and resources by providing comprehensive and culturally sensitive services.

More information can be found at the website: www.mabuhayhealthcenter.org. If interested, or for more information, contact directly MHC’s Executive Director, Tiffany Chinn at tchinn@mabuhayhealthcenter.org.
