Screening of new film on PH rescue of Jews from the Holocaust – April 15
SAN FRANCISCO — “An Open Door: Jewish Rescue in the Philippines,” an inspiring documentary of rescue and friendship and how the Philippines, together with American and Jewish allies, saved more than 1,300 Jews from the Nazis will be presented by Positively Filipino.com and Congregation Emanu-El on Wednesday, April 15, at Temple Emanu-El, Martin Meyer Sanctuary.
Survivors and their children are the main storytellers in the documentary, which was filmed on location in the United States, Philippines and Israel.
Award-winning filmmaker, Filipino director Noel Izon, and Holocaust survivors who found a welcoming home in Manila will be at the screening.
The film recently won the Best Documentary Award at the Bakersfield Film Festival.
