CA confirms nomination of 42 diplomats

MANILA, Philippines—The powerful Commission on Appointments has confirmed the nominations of 42 diplomats.

Members of the CA unanimously approved the ad interim appointment of 42 diplomats when Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago, chair of the appointment body’s committee on foreign affairs, endorsed them for plenary approval.

Only one nominee, Philippine ambassador to China Domingo Lee, was not confirmed. He was also lined up for confirmation in the committee level but the proceeding ended without acting on his nomination.

Following are the 42 confirmed nominees:
