MANILA, Philippines–Pope Francis arrived Thursday night at the Apostolic Nunciature on Taft Avenue, Manila, after a 34-minute motorcade from the Villamor Airbase in Pasay City.

The pope onboard a popemobile arrived 6: 55 p.m. at the Nunciature and was warmly greeted by thousands of Filipinos cheering for the pope.

Pope Francis will spend his first night in the Philippines at the Apostolic Nunciature, the official residence of the pope during his five-day visit to the country.

On Thursday afternoon, the papal plane arrived at Villamor Airbase at 5:32 p.m.
