SAN FRANCISCO – Successful students who have demonstrated community leadership, personal triumph, financial need and academic achievement, can receive up to $20,000 in scholarship from the utility company Pacific Gas and Electric (PGE).
The fourth annual PG&E Bright Minds™ Scholarship program high school, community college and “non-traditional” students offers scholarships of up to $20,000 per year for up to five years; program finalists will receive $2,000 towards their studies.
Since 2012, the PG&E Bright Minds™ Scholarship program has awarded nearly $3 million. All majors are eligible, with preference given to students majoring in engineering. Eligible students will be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the duration of the 2015-2016 academic year.
“As a 2014 PG&E Bright Minds™ Scholarship recipient, I can stay focused on my studies and keep on track for academic success,” said Tatiana Overturf from Templeton. “As I start the second semester of my freshman year at Fresno State, I am incredibly grateful to PG&E for providing me the resources to make my dreams a reality.”
