MANILA, Philippines- Police operatives seized P20 million worth of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City early Friday.
Police Senior Superintendent Joel Pagdilao of the Quezon City Police District arrested Chinese national Jiacheng Shi, on Masaya Street near the corner of Maginhawa Street in barangay (village) Capitol Site around 7: 20 a.m.
Pagdilao said a police operative acted as buyer and bought from the 33-year-old suspect one kilo of shabu amounting to P1.5 million.
Police also seized from the suspect’s black Mazda with plate number POA 949 another four packs of suspected shabu placed in a Chinese Tea plastic contained and stuffed inside a sports bag at the back of the driver’s seat.
Pagdilao said the four packs of suspected shabu weighed approximately one kilo each with an estimated street value of 20 million pesos including the first pack.
He said the suspect was brought and detained in a detention facility in Camp Karingal, Quezon City.
The suspect is facing raps for violation of sections 5 and 11 or the Possession of Prohibited and Dangerous Drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
