ACES cagers rebound

THE ATHLETES for Christ in Excellent Service (ACES) bounced back from their loss last Wednesday and vented their ire on the Shalom Cable Technologies Inc. as they routed the latter, 64-53, in the Jr. Cebu Basketball Association (CBA) yesterday at the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) gym.

The Aces lost to the mighty Pier One-Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles, 54-78, in their first game last Wednesday.

However, they showed no ill effects of that loss yesterday as they led from opening tip until the final buzzer.

The Aces flaunted their balanced attack led by the 13 points of Peter Cuizon and the 11 each of former Sacred Heart standout, Bradley Bacaltos and Joel Lee Yu. Kaiser Ortega also did a superb job with 10 markers.

Meanwhile, the second game saw the Magis Eagles register their second straight win with a 71-65 victory over the Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology (SCSIT) Baby Skyblazers. The loss was SCSIT’s second in as many games.
