CEBU will experience generally fine weather with isolated rains and some sunshine, the Mactan office of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said yesterday.
“We can see a little bit of sunshine especially in the northern part of Cebu,” said Mactan Pagasa weather analyst Boy Artiaga.
He said the La Niña phenomenon ended last March but the rainy season has yet to start due to current warm weather.
Yesterday’s rain was caused by a low-pressure area (LPA) spotted near Catbalogan, Samar, Artiaga said.
He explained that there is very little chance of the low-pressure area developing into a typhoon due to its proximity to the land area.
Artiaga said the onset of rains has yet to be experienced on the second week of this month, the usual start of the rainy season.
“Once the rainy season starts, its going to rain every day. Unlike the past days where there is an interval,” he said.
The seas near Bohol, Siquijor and Leyte will be a little bit rough owing to the presence of the low-pressure area.
